Art Vontobel

Discover the latest exhibition from Art Vontobel during the Swiss Photomonth 2025. Through guided tours, explore how contemporary artists push the boundaries of photography—blending analogue, digital, and immersive techniques to reflect today’s world.

Art Vontobel invites you to join exclusive art tours of our collection during Swiss Photomonth 2025, through our current exhibition and through other rooms in our Zurich office. Presenting a curated selection of recent acquisitions, the exhibition offers insight into how contemporary artists engage with the complexities of today’s world through photographic and image-based art.

Rooted in photography yet expanding far beyond its traditional limits, the works on view exemplify the evolving nature of visual storytelling in the 21st century. From cameraless processes to augmented reality, artists like Wolfgang Tillmans, Raphael Hefti and Jack Warne challenge conventional forms. Hefti’s experiments with chemical transformations nod to photography’s origins, while Warne blends analogue techniques with digital media, animating his painterly images through AR technology.

Social and political narratives also find powerful expression. James Bantone’s masked portraits probe identity and social perception, while Sheida Soleimani’s vivid photo assemblages reflect on migration and geopolitical trauma. Works by Anette Kelm, Cortis & Sonderegger, and Vasantha Yoganathan further enrich the dialogue with diverse visual approaches and thematic concerns.

Art Vontobel’s focus on emerging and international voices reflects our commitment to innovation and social responsibility. Through this tour, we invite visitors to experience how photography can serve as a dynamic platform for new perspectives and meaningful exchange—right within the workplace.

All tours are conducted in English.
