Now in its seventh edition, Fotofestival Lenzburg explores the theme of happiness—in all its contradictions and endless permutations. Often dismissed as superficial, the quest for happiness is a crucial aspect shaping our lives. How can images help us understand what happiness truly is, and where its boundaries lie?
The many projects received through the Forever Happy Open Call revealed a rich variety of perspectives: from mass tourism to the search for one’s inner child, from building a new home and identity to reconnecting with one’s place of origin.
As a collaboration between Fotofestival Lenzburg and Stadtmuseum Aarau, the event presents a screening of the six shortlisted projects from the Open Call (selected from over 240 entries), offering a deeper look into the diverse facets of happiness.
The evening will also feature the announcement of the Near Prize 2025 winner, whose work will be exhibited at the 2026 edition of the festival and the opportunity to gain an insight into the current photo exhibitions at the Stadtmuseum.
Join us for an inspiring evening of photography, stories, networking and happiness.
We look forward to meeting you!
