To mark its 10th edition, the Biennale Images Vevey explores the concept of family in a broad, vibrant and contemporary sense. The chosen family, the artistic family, the professional family, the extended family, the blended family, the transgenerational family – but also the bonds that are forged through encounters.
In a world marked by polarisation, a simple affirmation: the family, whether biological or chosen, remains an essential space for solidarity and for learning to live together.
For this edition, 50 artists are taking over the town of Vevey, both indoors and outdoors, in parks and public spaces, with bespoke installations that showcase the region’s Riviera assets. Among the artists are: Carlos Amorales, Richard Billingham, Matthias Brunner, Barbara Davatz, Siân Davey, Cristina De Middel, Rineke Dijkstra, Deanna Dikeman, Charlie Engman, Luisa Dörr, Douglas Gordon and Philippe Parreno, JR, Abdulhamid Kircher, Stacy Kranitz, Vik Muniz, Erika Stucky, and many more.
