We are pleased to present the 12th edition of the Festival, built around the theme Bodies of Water. Five days among stone villages and water landscapes: open-air exhibitions, evening screenings, concerts, photographic walks, and meetings with artists from all over the world.
The twelfth edition of the Verzasca Foto Festival transforms the evocative Verzasca Valley into a wide-ranging journey of images, encounters, and discoveries. This year’s theme, Bodies of Water, is an artistic and conceptual homage to the vital element that shapes landscapes, identities, and memories.
Sixteen international projects explore water as a natural force, a symbol of resistance, and a mirror of stories from the margins.
From Wednesday 3 to Saturday 6 September, the heart of the Festival will animate the valley among Sonogno, Frasco, and Brione with open-air and historical venue exhibitions, photographic walks, concerts, workshops, artist talks, and the unmissable Night of Photography. Musical highlights include the folk concerts of Lavinia Mancusi with Denise Di Maria (folk songs from the Mediterranean and South America) and Lavinia Mancusi with Mauro Menegazzi (A Cruda Voz). Also exhibited are the Verzasca Foto Awards, with winning projects by Rhiannon Adam, Camilla Marrese & Gabriele Chiapparini, and Aline Bovard Rudaz, as well as the Artistic Residencies with Mayssa Khoury and Sumi Anjuman.
On Sunday 7 September, in Gordola, Casa Azul will host the festival’s finissage with the opening of the annual exhibition programme Moving Structures, accompanied by a brunch and a cyanotype workshop for children.
All activities are free and open to all, inviting the public to immerse themselves in a unique experience between art, nature, and community.
