A series of short films by artists from the pool collective and invited contributors, exploring video as a photographic language. The series of three minute videos, created specifically for these events, are produced individually by the artists and developed in the pool collective’s trusted feedback sessions.
Presented in collaboration with Centre de la photographie Genève and Photoforum Pasquart.
The pool collective, in collaboration with Centre de la photographie Genève and Photoforum Pasquart, presents two screenings exploring video as a photographic language. Shown in two parts in two locations, the screening events will feature short video works by a group of 18 artists who reimagine their photographic practices through moving images and sound.
The series of three minute videos, created specifically for these events, are produced individually by the artists and developed in the pool collective’s trusted feedback sessions. The presentations offer fresh perspectives on their creative processes and offer insights into a dynamic cross-section of contemporary photographic voices in Switzerland.
Two screenings will take place with the showcased artists present: Part 1 (14 projects) on Saturday 27th September at Centre de la Photographie in Geneva, and Part 2 (14 projects) on Saturday 4th October at Photoforum Pasquart in Biel. Each evening concludes with an informal apéro, encouraging dialogue between artists and the audience in a relaxed setting. The screenings are free and open to the public.
The pool collective, a self-organized group of artists, is dedicated to fostering personally motivated work in the field of photography. The collective emphasizes exchange, networking, and visibility, regularly hosting activities and events that encourage feedback, experimentation, and collective learning.
Photoforum Pasquart showcases emerging and mid-career artists who work with photography in all its evolving forms.
The Centre de la photographie Genève (CPG) defines itself as a research laboratory for new ways of presenting and thinking about photography today in an institutional context.
