Con la sua macchina fotografica, il fotografo di Aarau Werner Erne (1931-2024) si è mosso in molti mondi: Come fotografo pubblicitario, industriale e di architettura, Erne ha documentato le attività di aziende svizzere tradizionali come Bally, Kern e Trüb. Nel suo studio, ha messo nella giusta luce dolciumi, schermi CRT e lavastoviglie per creare immagini accattivanti per gli opuscoli pubblicitari. Come fotografo e cofondatore del teatro seminterrato “Innerstadtbühne Aarau”, ha svolto un ruolo attivo nel plasmare la scena culturale.
Le immagini di Erne fanno rivivere vernissage, concerti jazz e spettacoli teatrali. Anche nelle sue fotografie libere era sempre alla ricerca di ordini e strutture visive, superfici geometriche e linee.
Il suo lascito è un’importante aggiunta contemporanea alla collezione di importanti fotografi di Aarau del museo. Il team dello Stadtmuseum Aarau ha organizzato, inventariato e archiviato il materiale e lo ha riunito in una mostra espressiva, che potrà essere visitata dal 15 agosto 2025.
